MarketMan manages purchasing, invoices, inventory, recipes, waste, vendor orders, commissaries, and connections to POS and accounting systems. Its AI reads invoices, matches ingredients, predicts order quantities, suggests substitutions, and identifies recipe and margin problems.
For this review, we assessed the AI features from invoice receipt through ordering and recipe analysis, with particular attention to the data errors that can spread across the system.
Invoice scanning saves entry time but does not remove receiving work. Pack changes, catch weights, credits, and inconsistent vendor names can break a match. One unit error then affects inventory, recipe cost, margin, variance, and ordering.
Smart Ordering combines demand, stock, recipes, and purchase history. It improves on a fixed par when sales are stable. It cannot see unrecorded events, supplier terms, equipment failures, staff meals, or late waste. Track stockouts, emergency purchases, and rejected suggestions before relying on it.
Recipe AI matches items, finds duplicates, suggests substitutions, and combines sales with cost. It can identify popular dishes with weak margins. A cheaper substitute may change flavor, yield, allergens, labeling, or preparation time and needs human approval.
Actual-versus-theoretical reporting shows discrepancies but cannot identify the cause without reliable records. Starter includes 50 scans, Growth adds the main AI tools, and Enterprise’s API is read-only with 5,000 monthly calls.
