Fathom is an AI meeting assistant that records, transcribes, summarizes, and extracts action items from video calls on Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and Webex. Summaries are delivered within 30 seconds of the meeting ending, with timestamped links to every point in the recording.
We tested Fathom across internal standups and one-on-ones. The 30-second summary delivery is the first thing that earns trust. The meeting ends, and before you’ve stood up from your desk, a structured summary with action items, decisions, and key discussion points lands in your inbox. The quality is consistently good enough to forward to your team without editing.
Ask Fathom is the feature that transforms it from a notetaker into a meeting knowledge base. On Premium and above, you can query your entire meeting history in natural language: “what did the client say about pricing in our last three calls” or “when did we decide on the launch date” and get answers with timestamped source links. Atlas extends this to account-wide insights across all team members’ meetings on the Business plan.
The April 2026 update brought bot-free capture. Fathom can now record through your device’s audio without joining the call as a visible participant. This addresses the biggest historical complaint: the “Fathom Notetaker” bot that changed meeting dynamics. You now choose bot mode (visible, can attend without you) or bot-free mode (invisible, requires you to be in the call).
Live summaries surface during the meeting itself, so latecomers can read what’s been discussed without interrupting. The iOS app added mobile recording for phone calls and in-person conversations.
CRM integration on the Business plan ($25/mo) auto-syncs summaries, action items, and field-level data to Salesforce and HubSpot. AI scorecards provide structured coaching metrics for sales managers. The MCP server (api.fathom.ai/mcp) connects Fathom data to Claude, ChatGPT, and external AI workflows on every plan, including free.
Native integrations cover Slack, Asana, Zapier, and Make for workflow automation. Claude and ChatGPT integrations let you bring meeting context into your AI assistant sessions.
